Fall Fun

There wasn't much going on around Baton Rouge this summer but once Fall hit there were lots of activities and we tried to make the most of it.

We went to a Hot Air Balloon Festival.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see any balloons, they were only there at night and we went in the morning.

It was pretty hot and the festival wasn't that great.

Alice got to ride on some rides.

There was a little petting zoo.

Alice got to hold a rabbit, and it happened to be a white ribbit, and I about died.

We also went to Boo at the Zoo.

Alice has a bunch of dress up dresses so we just let her pick one to wear so she was Anna from Frozen.

I made some ears and a tail for Jane to be a kitten but everyone thought she was a bunny.

Alice had lots of fun seeing all the other kids in costume and trick-or-treating around the zoo.

And of course the candy, she loved the candy.

I got Stephen this shirt for his birthday, he loves the lion king, and I thought it would be really funny.

Then it was trick-or-treating in the neighborhood.

Alice decided to be Snow White this time.

Every house we went up to we reminded Alice that she needs to say "trick or treat" but as soon as she would see the bowl of candy she would forget and just grab a handful (not even waiting for the person to give her some).

She was pretty excited.

It's been a pretty fun Fall.

Jane: 6 Months Old

Jane just turned 6 months old!

It came so fast!

She's pretty mobile, she gets around pretty good with an army crawl but has started doing a real crawl the last couple days.

She's pretty content crawling around and playing with her toys, trying to get at whatever Alice is doing.

She got her first non-breast milk the other day.  I gave her some banana but she just made a face like "why is this in my mouth?" and spit it out.

Unfortunately my good sleeper has started being a bad sleeper the last couple weeks.  I don't know why but she is waking up crying like 6+ times a night.  Thank goodness we co-sleep!

So of course I had to do some pictures of her turning 6 months, decided to do something similar to what I did with Alice.

Here is Alice at 6 months:

And now Jane:

Don't they look so different!

Alice looks more like Stephen and his family and Jane looks more like me and my family.

Here is some more cuteness for you.

Miss Pretty-in-Pink

And of course I had to get some sister pictures while I was at it!

Alice Turns 3!

 First Birthday:

Second Birthday:

Third Birthday:

Alice at age 3 in a nutshell:

She's a total girly-girl who only wears dresses and almost always a "tutu dress".  Thankfully this girlyness has yet to include being very emotional, moody or sensitive.

She also loves all things transportation, airplanes, boats, buses and trains especially.

She sleeps great, goes to bed at 7:30 and we wake her up at 7.  She naps at 1:30 and I wake her up at 4.

It's still a struggle to get her to eat at mealtime.

She has a lot of energy, especially in the evening she can get really crazy.

She'll be a little shy in a new situation or place where she doesn't know anyone.

But at home or someplace with a friend she is super outgoing.

Favorite books: Beatrix Potter books, Pete the Cat books, Locomotive, Dr. Seuss books and the Jesus Storybook Bible.

Favorite shows/movies:  Peg + Cat, My Neighbor Totoro, Song of the Sea, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Winnie the Pooh.

She loves Jane and is a great big sister, most of the time.

She loves going to church and cries every Sunday when we leave.

We love her to pieces and are so blessed to be her parents.

So on her birthday we started off with a mickey pancake and candles:

Then we headed to the zoo, which is an occasion which obviously warrants a tutu dress, birthday girl crown and a "boppity-boo" (magic wand).

We ended the day with a cupcake with trick candles on it, her reaction was hilarious.

I wanted to take some pictures of Alice for her birthday which is easier said than done.

Alice is not good at getting her picture taken, it's so hard to get her to look at the camera and even harder to get her to do it while smiling.

Thankfully I learned a good trick from my sister-in-law (and mother of 4)....bribery.

In this case, jelly beans did the trick.

Wish I was a photoshop pro and could add fairy wings to this picture!
