Anna and Evie Come to Visit!

The day I found out I was pregnant with Alice I called my best friend Anna and said "I'm pregnant!"

And she said, "I am too!"

Then we both found out we were having girls and we knew we had best friends in the making, even if they do live across the country from each other.

She had her baby girl, Evangeline, Evie for short (pronounced E-V) on August 7th, and I had Alice on September 7th.

They met each other for the first time at Christmas when they were 3 and 4 months old.

Obviously at that age there was not much interacting.

But on my birthday Anna surprised me by telling me she and Evie were going to come and visit!

So this past weekend we got 4 and 1/2 days together.

Evie can't walk yet but that didn't stop the two of them from "running" amuck together :o)

Evie is the yougest of 3 so she is a little more used to loud noises and rough playing than Alice, so it was a good experience for Alice.

Learning to share.

We went to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.

We let them run amuck at Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream, they even got to taste a little.  Alice tasted my pear sorbet and did the full body shake and a pirate face, then opened her mouth for more.

Sunday was church and hang out at the house day.

Also, like all weekend, torture Tiger Lily time, and the silly cat would keep hanging around the babies anyways.

On Monday we went to Franklin, an adorable town south of Nashville.

When we first got there it was raining and we forgot umbrellas so we had to improvise..

Then we had lunch.

Anna taught me how to give your baby water with a straw, Alice loved it.

We went to the Carter house which had grounds and a small museum to walk around and learn about the Battle of Franklin from the Civil War.

Evie apparently is not much of a history buff because she slept the whole time.

Alice on the other hand was trilled to walk around and pick up leaves.

Our southern belle with some confederate canons.

Then we got gelato and let the girls run amuck again.

That evening we introduced them to the best movie ever, Pride and Prejudice (which Anna and I have watched more times than we can count)

Don't worry, the girls only stood in front of the TV for a minute then went back to pulling down books and tormenting Tiger Lily.

We also did a quick photo shoot of the two of them that I will show you soon.

Overall we had a great time and it was sad to say goodbye.

Hopefully it won't be too long till the best buds can be reunited.
