Alice: 3 Months

Weight:  Don't know, she didn't have a doctor's appointment this month.

Height:  Same as above.  I know she is still on the smaller side though because she is still too small for some of her 0-3 month clothes.

Appearance changes:  Her eyes are changing color and her hair is a little bald in the back.

New Skills:  She is cooing and "talking" more.  She mostly says "ah-gooo".  When I say it to her she smiles and says it back.  Its pretty darn cute.  She also has figured out how to get her hands to her mouth.

Stephen's Nicknames:  No new nicknames, just mostly calls her Bo-Bo.

Megan's Nicknames:  Still calling her Miss, love, baby girl and cuddles/cuddle bug.

Likes:  To be read to.  Her favorite book is Moo, Baa, La La La! by Sandra Boynton.  She smiles so big every time I read it to her.  I used it to get her to smile in some of the pictures.

Dislikes:  Still hates the car seat.  Also, she is not a big fan of teething.  Yes, my little Alice is teething already.  I tried to deny it but its true.

Firsts: On December 4th she laughed for the first time.  It was just a short giggle but still super cute.  I had her on the changing table getting her out of her clothes and into her PJs and, like usual, I couldn't pass up the chance to give her raspberries and kisses all over her tummy and when I did, she giggled.

More adorableness:

This is her sneezing.  Sometimes she sneezes really loud, like her mom.

Proof that she still has a ton of hair.  Also, I need to set the record straight on the color.  As much as I would love for her to have red hair, her hair is definitely brown.  Whether or not her hair will change color later on, I have no idea.  For some reason in pictures her hair looks more orange than it really is.

With teething, she has been doing a lot of this:

Here is a close up of her eyes.  If you look close you can see flecks of brown in the iris and green around the pupil.  She is most likely going to have hazel/green eyes like me.

Big smiles

This was when I first gave her the flamingo.

Then it went straight to the mouth...nom, nom, nom

Alice: 2 Months

Weight:  10 lbs 4 oz

Height:  22 inches

Appearance changes:  Filling out with a rounder face and chunkier thighs

New Skills:  Makes more cooing sounds, smiles, gets excited, can hold head up well

Stephen's Nicknames:  Bo Bo (a derivative of Alice Bo-Balice)  He pretty much calls her Bo Bo all the time now.  It's pretty cute.

Megan's Nicknames:  Baby girl, Love, Cuddle bug, Miss Wide Awake (this nickname is particular to those times in the middle of the night when she decides she doesn't want to sleep anymore)

Likes:  To sleep on mine or Stephen's chest, being bounced in her bouncy chair

Dislikes:  Not being held, when I blow my nose (seriously, it makes her cry)

Entertainment (what she finds entertaining):  She still loves staring at the fan but now she likes to see it spin.  She also loves staring at her mobile when I make it spin.

Firsts:  She cried with tears for the first time.  (Babies' tear ducts don't work until after a month old)  This happened on the 10 minute car ride from the grocery store to home.  She cried in the car seat the whole way and when we got home I went to get her out of the car seat and she had tears running down her face and a pouty lip.  It was so adorably sad.

On the other end of the spectrum, on October 24th she smiled for real for the first time.  What I mean by "for real" is that it was in reaction to something, not just a random face.  All day that day I had been trying to get her to smile, Stephen and I had made it a bit of a competition to see who could make her smile first.  I predicted that it would be Stephen.  I was nursing Alice when Stephen got home from work.  As soon as she heard his voice she stopped nursing and watched him until I gave her to him.  Then he started being goofy with her and in just a few minutes he got her to smile!  It was really cute.

In general she has gotten a lot more expressive.

I wasn't able to get any real good pictures of her big smile but here are some of what I did get.

We call this her "concerned face"

This is her pirate face "Arrrgh!"

This is her sitting up against the couch, right before she fell over.

 General adorableness:

I also added a tab next to the "The Bump" tab that has her month by month pictures so you can compare better.

Vote!

In case you didn't get enough of voting yesterday, I have something very important for you to vote on today.

It is vital to the success of this nation.

Just kidding.

I'm just wondering if you think Alice looks more like me or Stephen :o)

It's a question we've been asking ourselves since she was born but neither Stephen nor I know the answer.

It's so hard to tell because all her features still look like baby features and like no one in particular.

So I took some of Stephen and my baby pictures to see if we could tell from that.

Here is what I've got.

Now before you look at the pictures, don't make the mistake that most people make, which is jumping to the conclusion that two people look alike because they are posed the same.  You have to look at specific features to really tell similarities.

Now take a look and vote!

Pumpkin Patch

When Alice was 6 weeks old we took her to a pumpkin patch.

I was really looking forward to going and enjoying the Fall weather, wearing boots, drinking hot cider and all the things we missed out on in Hawaii.

Sadly, it was close to 80 degrees the day we went.

Oh well.

I kept trying to get a picture of her with these funky looking pumpkins but every time we set her down next to them she would cry.

Then daddy would save her.

She loves her daddy.

On top of a huge pumpkin.

Alice as farmer John.

We had a good time and lots of people commented on how cute and tiny Alice is, though most people were confused about what gender she is but I guess that is what I get for dressing her in gender neutral clothes.

How could I help it, do you see how adorable that outfit is?!

Grandparents

Alice is a very lucky girl.

She has...

2 Nanas

1 Grandma Patti

3 Great Grandmas

1 Boppa

1 Papa

1 Papa Grande

1 Boppa G

and

1 Great Grandpa

which is a grand total of 11 grandparents!

In the weeks after her birth Alice was visited by some of these grandparents.

First came my parents, Boppa and Nana.

Then came Stephen's family, Nana, Papa and Grandma Patti.

She was hugged, kissed, cuddled and held non-stop.

She will definitely be spoiled in the years to come :o)

Alice: 1 Month Old

Ok here it is, the beginning of my monthly series on Alice.

Each month I will have a picture of her with some info below.

Also, I am going to include a picture of her with her stuffed flamingo because it can be hard to tell without a reference how much bigger a baby is getting.

Weight:  8 lbs 10 oz

Height:  20.5 inches

Appearance changes:  Chubbier cheeks, double chin and paler skin

New Skills:  Can hold a steady gaze and makes eye contact

Stephen's Nicknames:  Alice Bo-Balice, Squeaks, Stink Butt

Megan's Nicknames:  Miss Alice, Miss, Little Miss

Likes:  Me, Stephen, cuddling

Dislikes:  Having her clothes changed, the car seat

Entertainment (what she finds entertaining):  "Bouncy house" which is what Stephen calls it when he bounces her up and down.  Also she loves staring at the ceiling fan, even though it's not on.

Quirks:  She grunts a lot and it sounds like an elephant. She gets really sweaty at night and is stinky in the morning.  She gets a purple splotch on her forehead when she is straining.

Here are a couple more pictures from this shoot, just for fun.

This one makes me laugh cause it's like she saying "No, not the flamingo!"
