So we went to California for the 2nd time this summer, which is very unusual for us but it was for a special occasion.
But I will get to that later.
The first few days we spent with Stephen's family in Brentwood.
Bedtime stories with Nana.
We spent one day at a zoo and little park.
Fun with Papa's hat at the pool.
We went to a Benihana type place one night for dinner.
I didn't get any pictures but much to all of our surprise, Alice was TERRIFIED.
In the beginning of the "show" the cook makes the fire on top of the griddle go really high and Alice was so scared. She sat on Stephen's lap and buried her face under his arm.
Thankfully she was fine after that. And the food was really good.
Stephen's mom and step-dad have a big mongolian bbq thing in their backyard and watching the cook at the restaurant inspired Stephen to make us all breakfast the next morning on it.
He did a great job, and now he wants one :)
Then we headed to Napa and visited Stephen's Grandma.
She has a room dedicated to toys for the great-grandkids to play with when they visit.
Alice buried herself in the stuffed animals on the bed, it reminded me of that scene from E.T.
Grandma was very excited to throw a little party for Alice's birthday and went all out.
She made this Princess Belle cake.
Alice was very excited.
We put a candle on Jane's cupcake so she could blow it out too, which she loved.

Then it was onto my parent's house and that special occasion I mentioned earlier.
